Modern people cannot imagine their lives without smartphones. These devices come with many features and besides being useful they can also bring a lot fun. They can be used for many different things like communication, browsing the internet, taking photos, playing games, reading news, watching TV, having video calls etc. Today there are literally hundreds of different smartphone models produced by dozens of manufacturers available on the market. This situation is very good because this means that the price of these phones is dropping and the fierce competition is making companies to implement as many features as they can in each of their smartphone models. However, this also means that the process of selecting the right smartphone is a little bit complicated. Luckily there are few tips that can help you make the right decision.

Operative system

First of all, you need to know that there are several operating systems used in smartphones. The most popular of all is Android while there are many phones that use Windows, Blackberry and Apple iOS operating systems. If you are crazy about apps then you should definitely check some Android phone because the Google Play Store is the place with the highest number of apps.

The appearance and size of the smartphone

There is no doubt that larger displays allow more fun and they are easier for operating. However, you should keep in mind that larger displays require more maintenance and they are also more prone to damages. Sometimes the right size of the smartphone depends on the user’s hands. Those who have bigger hands should look for a 4.3 inch (or more) displays. Those who have thicker fingers and poor vision should definitely choose smartphone with a larger display.

Weight

One other thing that can be really important is the smartphone’s weight. It is a good idea to check the weight and feeling in your own hand. If you are an active smartphone user you can easily get tired if you keep a smartphone with a high weight in your hands during the day. Luckily, most of the smartphones today are made of lightweight materials and they are not heated easily, but since there are some exceptions you should be careful.

Screen resolution

Most people are usually looking at the phone’s screen and its quality. They are attracted to their look and brightness. However, not all screens are the same. You can easily find the specifications about the smartphone you are interested in, but if you have the chance to see it yourself it would be much better because int this way you will see if the screen light suits your eyes. For example, AMOLED screens have more vivid colors and better contrast, but LCD screens have brighter colors.

Camera

This feature is only relevant for those who like to take photos with their phones. Modern smartphones have powerful cameras, but keep in mind that they can’t replace regular cameras. If you want to have a smartphone that has at least standard characteristics you should find one with at least 8 MP camera.
